Inspecting her latest toy.
And by the time I uploaded the picture here, she was already over it. Hmph, babies!

I know it's not very obvious but...
She really is standing in this picture.

This is for Tina :)
That round head pointedly ignoring the camera is Iza claiming her spot with the older kids. She literally pushed Cillian (kid on right) out of the center to sqeeze in between him and Sabrina (girl on left).

February Full Moon So glad I took a picture that night while Harun, Iza and I took a late evening stroll outside.

Love at First Sight
The very first kid Iza wanted to play with, smooch and hug right at the first meeting. Mustafa Ali, Harun's friend's son, 6 yo.

Last day with Ammi Jee
For my week long sickness, my mom came to help out. She left Friday night.

Harun's New Phone
That lasted all but a day and was sent back. Yep, just like a said. iPhone's touch screen was too fast and Vu's touch screen was "too slow." *smirk*

First encounter with an apple after getting two top and two bottom teeth. Needless to say, the poor apple was traumatized.

Camera troubles

I won't be uploading pictures for sometime, possibly a week or two, because the camera's cable is not working. I will be however, taking the pictures to be uploaded later on.
Iza had her second to last doctor's appointment today. Just two more shots and then we're done till her 1 year appointment in May.
I also had my first physical therapy session today. Didn't help much but I'm looking forward to the next session and hopefully some good will come out of it.

Sunday Playdate at a Fellow Sunnymom's
Turned out Jenny has an old friend living in Sunnyside who had a beautiful baby boy 6 weeks ago. Olga, Jenny and I got to visit Elizabeth and Isa. It was just so funny that the three kids are all names Iza, Isa and Ziya. So similar, we thought they might grow up to become a trio of fast friends.

Late night sweet tooth service
Harun, Iza and I headed over to Lower Manhattan, suddenly craving Jacques Torres chocolate chip cookie icecream sandwiches. But the stupid place was closed, so we wandered around telling ourselves not to head over to the most obvious choice "Buttercup Cafe." "We need to find something new! We're bored of the same Mariacchi, Buttercup, Au Bon Pain circle of weenend rituals."
So to break away from the cycle, we made a pit stop at Crumbs Bakeshop. There was no parking so I had to stay in the car double parked. Thank God I didn't have to move it even once because what with my hand in a splint, steering would have been...well, difficult. In the picture, that's Harun inside the shop.

The cupcakes sucked! The icing was freezing over with too much sugar, and the cake was bland at best. No comparison with Buttercup Cafe's. Harun's carrot cake cupcake however was huge, and just the portion size won me over. It was good carrot cupcake, not enough icing on top, but the cake was delicious.
We chilled in the Union Square park with our cupcakes and coffee and giggled at the hobo yelling "Bitch" at the top of his lungs. Every time he yelled BITCH, I yelled (not as loudly, just for Iza's benefit) WITCH! I don't want her first word to be "bitch"....but I can live with "Witch."

Finally got medical help
For my aching wrist. The orthopedist told me to make a fist with my thumb turned up and tightly tucked under the fingers, then asked me to bend the fist down. I couldn't move the fist--not even a tiny bit. Keeping me engaged in talking, he firmly grabbed my fist and in one sharp move pushed it down. I screamed and it hurt like hell on earth. He explained between my sobs that he had to do this to determine the severity of pain and to rule out other possibilities. Apparently, the condition is a fairly common occurance in young first time mothers, called DeQuervain's Syndrome.
So now I have to wear this splint for 10 days, ice my arm 3-4 times a day everyday and go to physical therapy for two weeks.
The good news is that, according to wikipedia (and my sister, even though she didn't know the medical name for it) the syndrome normally lasts upto a year and once it heals itself, it rarely happens again. This is month 8 of my pain, so not too long from now, I should be pain free. Yay!

Chilling with FB
Once again, Iza enjoyed her afternoon with friends as did I. I'm so glad she's not being shy and inhibited anymore. I was afraid she might become a "shy" child.

Bye Bye iPhone
Harun is selling his iPhone to get the new BlackBerry Storm instead. What do I care, right? Except I got spammed by people emailing me for his posting on Craigslist! One chick actually wanted HIM to drop the phone to her home in Brooklyn! What was she thinking?
I'm curious to see if Mr. Crackberry will be satisfied with the new Storm.

Of course I forgot again

To take pictures at the most fun thing we did today... Playgroup at Elizabeth Streich's place with Matty (she's in my blog list, you should see the photoshopping they did with Matty's pics, they are hilarious!). Iza and Matty chased their cat Garb all around. He was totally staring Iza down, daring her to follow him. As soon as Iza made any moves to close on to him, he'd climb something and get out of her reach. Smart cat!

I need to be more proactive in taking pictures. Now I feel sad I didn't catch any of that on camera.

Iza-bunny tired and cranky, as am I
Arrrgh, today was horrible, even with the half hour of relative quiet in Starbucks that I got to enjoy while Iza slept in the stroller. That half hour could have been the reason I was patient enought to cook, clean, AND make baby food all the while Iza was clinging to my legs and getting into everything she shouldn't have been, all without a melt down (my meltdown).

Fun on the First of February
Our visit of Central Park and Iza's favorite part would have been here on the swings. Totally disregard the beautifully restored lookout that looks like a fairy tale castle, but helloooo SWINGS!
