Iza's New Earings
Harun didn't even come with us to get Iza her first piercings (I'm such a trendy mom, you know hehe). It was a high strung day, but we made it with minimal crying and only a few tears. Jenny accompanied me and manned the camera. This is only one of the many beautiful (and some scary) pictures that we took during the event. I'll find time to put them all up on Iza's personal notes blog.

Annihilation of a watermelon, at Coney Island beach
Father and daughter discovered the first sweet watermelons of the summer and for the second day in a row, killed and gutted one. The beach itself was a saga, Iza hated it. The only time she tolerated the sand, was when she was distracted by the watermelons. She screamed with fear anytime her feet touched not just the sand, even the blanket over the sand. We had to rush a very hysterical baby out and off the beach, very quickly after finishing dinner.
And my dreams of playing in the sandy beaches under sprinklers with my baby, slipped through the boardwalk planks.

"Shake Well & Smile Often"
Harun's advice to me this morning. To demonstrate, first he stood up and shook himself and then instructed me to do the second part. Hahahaha.
Then tonight he tells my mom, "I brought blackberries for you." My mom thanked him and then cracked up laughing hysterically as he picked up his BlackBerry phone and handed it to her. Hahahaha.

She's been working on it for some time now
Who would have thought my daughter's first name for me would be Ayesha? Her other words when calling either me or my mom are Ammi, Adda and something that sounds a lot like Ammi Jee, what we call my mom.
